What to do: if a planned recording missed the start or end of a programme

This is usually because the selected programme started early or late. The box is set to record the time of the programme, as well as the 'buffer' and takes the information from the programme guide.

If this changes then it is possible to clip a recording. However, the box allows you to manually record a programme based on your selected start and end times. To do this, go to the Programme library, and go to the top. Select the green button (Programme Timer) and set the details manually.

Additionally, you can set all recording with a 'Guard Time' which will set any recording to start and end up to 5 minutes before and after the guide time.

To set this up:

- Press Menu, go to Set-Up, then Recording Preferences.

- Then select Recording Guard Time  and using the green arrow keys move to the desired extension time (0 to 5 minutes). Note, you will need to re-set any programmes you have on series link as otherwise these programmes will not be picked up by the new Guard Time settings.

Alternatively, if you have software versions 1.13 or 0.56 then you can chose to switch to the 8 Day Guide option rather than the 14 day Guide. The 8 day guide has realtime updates to the broadcast schedule which will minimize impacts of schedule late starts, etc. You do this by selecting Menu, option 4, option 2 and changing the setting on line 9 from 14 to 8 day guide.
