What to do: If you are having Problems Recording

Recording Issues - Applies to all boxes

 

To resolve the recording issues we would advise you to the try the following procedures:-

Recording Methods:-

       Impulse - As an example whilst watching BBC1, press and hold the 'Red' R button on the remote control for at least 4 seconds. If recording, the flashing Red light will change to a solid RED light.

       Via Guide - Press 'Guide', select the programme from the guide you wish to record. Then press the 'Red' R button on the remote control and you will then see the Planned Recordings screen. Press 'Red' R on the remote control again to confirm the recording. If the programme has a 'Series Link', it will prompt you to select the whole series by pressing the 'Green' button or if you require that programme only press the 'Yellow' button.

Recording space Check:-

Ensure that you have sufficient recording space within the DTR to record programmes. To check this please do the following.

       Press the library button.

       In the top right hand corner of the screen, the recording space should be displayed.

       Typically you should have at least 10% - 20% available. You should always try to remove unwanted/viewed programmes from your library to maintain optimum space.

Format hard drive:-

Should you have zero disk space available (Menu, Set-up, Help, Line 9) and you cannot delete recordings to create space, then it is probable that you will have to reformat your hard disk. Note that this will wipe your disk of all recordings.

       Press the menu button.

       Scroll down to OPTION 4 and press OK.

       Scroll down to OPTION 6 and press OK.

       In the help menu press the green button.

       Press the blue button for Format HDD.

       Press the green button to continue.

 

The DTR will now reboot and come back on automatically.

 

Once the DTR comes back on, please scan for channels to re-install the Top Up TV software. You will also have to go to the 'Choose your Providers' screen to reselect the channels you wish to receive downloads from.

 

Note that depending on when you perform this procedure it may take 48 hours for your TV Favourites downloads to recommence.
